They’re out of many parts of Afghanistan now. Britain and NATO launched this endeavor called Operation Panther’s Claw a while back to clear out Taliban influence from Afghanistan’s southern Helmand Province in an effort to allow people in those areas to vote in next month’s presidential election. Today, they report success. According to the top guy for the British operation, Brigadier Tim Radford, “Panther’s Claw has been extremely successful. There will be many Taliban who will not be fighting any more.” While saying that Taliban casualties were significant, they didn’t give a specific number. source
