U.S., World: Bill Clinton: “Man, I rule.” Barack Obama: “STORYTIME!”

  • I suspect that President Clinton will have some interesting observations from his trip and I will let him provide those to me.
  • President Barack Obama • Regarding former president Bill Clinton and his visit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-il. Bill, we’re excited, too. Clinton, by the way, is the most senior American diplomat to chill with Kim in almost a decade, since the Clinton administration – you know, his administration. John McCain’s excited, too: “I think it’ll be very interesting. He’s the first Westerner to see Kim since his reported stroke and other problems. I think former President Clinton will have some interesting information.” • source

World: Kim Jong Il and Steve Jobs have something in common

  • North Korea’s lead dude has pancreatic cancer. Well, that explains a lot. The recent decline in public appearances by the North Korean leader, along with the heavy amount of ballsy provocations by the country, has hinted that something might be up with his health. And a report by Yonhap Television News confirms it. So, yeah, time to start thinking about that line of succession. source

World: Kim Jong Il’s oldest son doesn’t care about politics at all

  • Personally, I am not interested in this issue (succession). Sorry, I am not interested in the politics.
  • Kim Jong Nam • Kim Jong Il’s oldest son, on his lack of desire to continue in the family business as North Korean dictator, where everybody outside of your country hates you because you’re crazy. Wonder why he wouldn’t want to do that. • source

U.S., World: North Korea starts firing off more crazy stuff

  • The test-range missile is the sixth this week. You got to hand it to North Korea. When they want to get your attention, they’re willing to go all out. Despite much complaining by the international community, the country continues to blow stuff up. South Korea’s ready for war. Yesterday, the U.S. decided to put the country on its second-highest alert level. Can we just be optimistic and believe they’re just trying to kill off their supplies? source

U.S., World: North Korea launched their rocket. Obama is ticked. Ticked!

  • With this provocative act, North Korea has ignored its international obligations, rejected unequivocal calls for restraint, and further isolated itself from the community of nations.
  • Barack Obama • In a statement regarding North Korea launching that rocket they’ve been going on and on about because they’re annoying. Well, they launched it on schedule. Sigh. • source
