U.S.: Guy watches child porn on plane, story ends as you’d expect

  • cause A University of Utah professor took a ride on a plane over the weekend; during said flight, he watched child porn on his laptop, in view of other passengers. Sickening. And a bad idea, because said passengers told officials about it.
  • reaction Now, Grant D. Smith is stuck in a Massachusetts jail after he was arrested after the plane landed. The school placed Smith on administrative leave. And many are confused as to why someone would do something like this. source

U.S.: Back in vogue: Unfounded fears of Muslims flying on planes

  • what Two Memphis-based Muslim scholars — who passed a security check and were already on the plane, by the way — were barred from flying yesterday. Ironically, they were headed to a conference on American fears of Islam.
  • why Apparently, the pilot was to blame — he apparently forced them to go through additional security procedures, and after they passed those wouldn’t fly with the two men on board. All in all, a great day for religious tolerance. source

U.S.: Ahahahahaha. The pilots who missed their stop? On their laptops.

  • The pilots are likely gonna lose their jobs. We sure hope so. Last week, the uproar over a plane that disappeared just before it was supposed to land initially had people thinking the plane was hijacked. Then, the pilots were drunk. Then, the pilots were arguing. Here’s what it really was: The pilots were on their laptops, while one was showing the other Delta Air Lines’ new scheduling system – which is changing for the pilots due to the continuing merger of Delta and Northwest Airlines. We’re not sure if we believe this. We bet they were just playing Canabalt. source
