  • dubya The ex-president showed up yesterday as @George_WBush, and has 7,897 Twitter followers so far. Make that 7,898. Sadly, it’s fake.
  • blago The shamed ex-governor of Illinois, who just started his corruption trial, has just 97 followers since he launched @Governorrod Monday.

Tech: Twitter finally has a plan to make money. Good for them!

  • Twitter will still be free for everybody and we’ll still tell them to go crazy with it. But we’ve identified a selection of things that businesses say are helping to make them more profit.
  • Twitter co-founder Biz Stone • Discussing how the company plans to actually make money with their overhyped, heavily-used service. The two ideas being presented: First, they plan to roll out premium accounts with analytics for corporate users. Secondly, they plan to create a commercial API for business-class interfaces. Note that the word “advertising” wasn’t used. • source

  • The @FakeChrisBale Twitter account • Regarding the actor’s “thoughts.” Bale, along with a who’s who of celebrities and politicians, have fake accounts dedicated to them. We guess that’s the new sign that you’ve made it to the big times…even if it’s not *always* flattering. Prime example: @notbillclinton exclaiming “Happy Mother’s Day to all the MILF’s!” • source
