Politics: Classless: Neil Cavuto cuts in on Michelle Obama to trash Barack

  • What the hell, dude? Considering all the classiness currently going around on all sides of the media, it’s taking a lot to draw our collective attentions, but Neil Cavuto did it here, pointing out – while Michelle Obama was making a speech honoring of the victims of United Flight 93 (!) – that Obama was not famous when the attack took place. Who cares? Just shut up and wait to make your petty, meaningless political point on another day. Note how Michelle was actually saying something relatively heartfelt and meaningful. You couldn’t have that, could you? source

  • » And it gets better: Slowly but surely, Android is gunning for the 900-pound gorilla in the market, RIM. In the most recent quarter, Android had sold 27 percent of all smartphones in the past six months, topping iPhone’s 23 percent share and closing in on BlackBerry’s 33 percent share. Of course, as nobody ever notes in any of these articles – ever – Google offers up their OS for free and sells it on a variety of models sold by numerous companies. To compare, Apple sells two iPhone models for high margins. Of course Google’s going to own the market.

Culture: Cancer survivor Roger Ebert’s bringing back “At the Movies”

  • Nobody can hold Roger Ebert down. The notable film critic, whose health problems (and amazing methods of working around them) have warmed the hearts of many in recent years, isn’t letting his condition hold him down. In fact, he’s bringing back his old “Two Thumbs Up” workhorse, this time in a return to its public-television roots. While he won’t be one of the two main critics (AP’s Christy Lemire and NPR’s Elvis Mitchell take those reins), Ebert will be featured in every episode, speaking in his newly-computerized voice.
