Tech: LEAKED: Microsoft’s possible Windows 8 plans? Wow.

  • Looks like somebody broke a non-disclosure agreement. These Powerpoint slides, which have been floating around the Web on some sketchy-looking forum for over a week, have recently drawn a lot of attention for what they’re suggesting. Facial recognition? Tablets? Ambitious plans for the living room? They’re all baked into these slides. MS has some big plans which they better not screw up like Windows Phone 7. source

Politics: “Going Rogue” leak: Sarah Palin trashes Katie Couric & John McCain

  • Perhaps the biggest target of Sarah Palin’s scorn in “Going Rogue”? Katie Couric, with whom she had a miserable interview last year during the McCain campaign. The former vice presidential wannabe also says (according to Drudge, who got a copy of the book) that McCain’s people blocked her from having any meaningful discussion with the press. If you’ve heard her speak since, you know exactly why, and it’s probably better she was held back. In other news, Levi’s Playgirl shoot featured a hockey stick. source

U.S.: Latest reason we’re all gonna die: Nuclear data accidentally leaked

  • *forehead slap* Great job, federal government. The U.S. revealed in a newsletter yesterday that somebody messed up and released a 266-page document LOADED with information about civilian nuclear holdings as well as maps of where we keep all of the fuel for our nuclear weapons. The document was marked “highly confidential,” which sounds scary. Some experts claim the leak isn’t THAT big a deal, but it’s not the first data screwup while Obama’s been in office. source
