World: Mousavi under intense amounts of pressure to stop fighting Iran vote

  • I am pressured to abandon my demand for the vote annulment … a major rigging has happened … I am prepared to prove that those behind the rigging are responsible for the bloodshed … Continuation of legal and calm protests will guarantee achieving our goals.
  • Mir Hossein Mousavi • On the protests that continue despite much fighting by the leadership and his hand being forced to give up the protests. Beyond the protests, Mousavi was the managing editor of the Kalameh-ye Sabz daily newspaper, which was forced to close this week. He’s not happy about that at all. The protests have been slowed greatly because of increased police presence but the protracted fight has had the side effect of showing massive rifts within the Iranian establishment. • source

World: Iran: Oh, Neda died because she looked like a terrorist’s sister!

  • Yeah. That sounds suspect. The Iranian government says that the reason why the shooting victim known as Neda was killed in such a violent fashion despite the fact that she wasn’t even protesting was because she looked like the sister of a known terrorist. Oh, and they also blamed her death on the throngs of people protesting, or as they called them, “those groups who want to create division in the nation.” Hm. Hmmmmmmmm. source

  • I had insisted and will insist on implementing the law on the election issue. Neither the establishment nor the nation will yield to pressure at any cost.

  • They’re defying orders and remembering Neda. The protesters are holding a vigil at Tehran’s Haft-e Tir Square for Neda, the young woman violently killed on camera over the weekend.
