Politics: “Forgot he was black”? Chris Matthews stumbles on his words

  • Dude. Dude. Dude. Why do pundits think it’s a good idea to bring up Obama’s race? It’s clearly a boondoggle every time it happens. He’s trying to make a good point about how his race doesn’t matter, but it’s worded so poorly that it just makes him look like a massive moron. “I maybe shouldn’t talk about it, but I am.” Yeah, pretty much.

Tech: The Apple iPad: Is the target audience the already-converted?

  • When it launches, the iPad’s initial target audience is iPhone and iPod touch users. Why? Because they are already very comfortable with the way you need to interact with this device.
  • TechCrunch columnist MG Siegler • Regarding the iPad’s initial target audience. It’s something Apple CEO Steve Jobs himself hinted at during his keynote address, saying, “If you have an iPhone, you already know how to use this.” And ultimately, that’s who’s going to be buying this, according to Siegler. It’s not perfect – it’s probably closer to a first-generation iPod than a first-generation iPhone in terms of completeness – but many users can already see its potential. It’s a CrunchPad on steroids. (Sorry, TechCrunch.) source

Offbeat: Evolution says the barefooted will outlast those wearing shoes

  • Barefoot running is reportedly safer than wearing Nikes. A new study by Harvard researchers claims that running in your bare feet is actually safer and hurts less than wearing sneakers. Why? Because when you run in shoes, your feet plod onto the ground heels-first and can feel painful very quickly. Bare feet decentralize that impact, landing on the ball or middle of their feet. It sounds like a good idea, but the second a barefoot runner hits some glass, he’s gonna totally regret it. source

Politics: Let’s hope John Edwards’ “special” tape doesn’t get online. Idiot.

  • There was one tape that was marked ‘special.’ It’s a sex tape of Rielle and John Edwards made just a couple of months before the Iowa caucuses.
  • Former John Edwards aide Andrew Young • Who covered up the presidential candidate’s affair, on what he happened to find in the house. Wait wait wait, John Edwards recorded a sex tape? And he’s a politician? What the hell is wrong with him? This guy was supposed to be president according to John Edwards. Young also reveals that Edwards tried to convince Rielle Hunter to get an abortion. Shocking. No wonder why he’s separated from Elizabeth. Who would want to keep a scumbag like this around anyway? source
