Culture, Tech: Anonymous blogger cattiness isn’t protected, a judge says

  • A blog named Skanks in NYC wrote this mean, biting statement about model Liskula Cohen: “How old is this skank? 40 something? She’s a psychotic, lying, whoring, still going to clubs at her age, skank.” Cohen saw it and got mad. source
  • Cohen sued a few months ago, and on Monday, the court ruled that she was allowed to sue the anonymous blogger for defamation. And worse: Google has to reveal her identity. Yikes. This is bad precedent. source

Biz, U.S.: Warren Buffett sez this ballooning federal debt is dangerous

  • Enormous dosages of monetary medicine continue to be administered and, before long, we will need to deal with their side effects. World: Not just a Bill; the latest on the season’s biggest hurricane so far

  • It’s a Category 4 now. Hurricane Bill is by no means a joke, currently sporting 135mph winds in the middle of the Atlantic. While it poses no threat to the U.S. at the moment, authorities in Bermuda have told residents to keep an eye on it. Oil installations in the Gulf of Mexico are watching for both Bill and the remnants of Tropical Storm Ana, which could strengthen again and damage their always-booming business. source

This blast outside of the Foreign Ministry left the biggest mark – a 30 foot deep, 60 foot wide crater. A bomb also shook the Finance Ministry. source
