U.S.: Did he forget security, or worse? Newark airport lockdown in full effect

  • Everybody to the back of the line. After a passenger went through the wrong side of a checkpoint at Newark International Airport’s Terminal C, the entire terminal was shut down, causing a nightmare for passengers at best and terrorist scare at worst. We’ll keep you posted on what happens next. source

  • Back in 1990, this was groundbreaking television. “Beverly Hills, 90210” tackled Brenda Walsh’s teen breast cancer scare – a tumor she found, by the way, after examining her own breast. Beyond adding to the obvious dangers of breast cancer – there’s a whole MONTH dedicated to it, for crying out loud – no more breast self-examinations means that the possibility of this scene happening in real life just went down significantly. Did the U.S. think of all the lives that could be saved, or even the amount of cheesy TV melodrama that could be created? Of course not. This is why experts are questioning the changes.source

U.S.: Swine flu: It’s like regular flu, but with more pork

  • Seven people recently got a strain of the flu, and researchers are weirded out. The flu, currently centered around California and Texas, is unlike any of the strains currently floating around. It carries elements of swine flu, avian flu and human flu viruses and have researchers stumped. Those suffering from it have already recovered, by the way.
