It’s interesting, really: If you’ve ever seen Ron Paul’s 2008 presidential campaign ads, you’ll know this is a complete change-up for him. These are Pawlenty-level image-editing values right over here. Will this help him move beyond his base and possibly turn into a 2012 tour de force? Who knows? But it certainly makes him seem more impressive than his 2008 ads ever did. It drives the point home better than anything else he’s ever done. source

Time has come around to the point where the people are agreeing with much of what I’ve been saying for 30 years. So, I think the time is right.
Rep. Ron Paul • In announcing his third run for president on “Good Morning America.” A campaign event is planned for later today. Let’s face it — even if it doesn’t succeed this time, now’s the time for Ron to do it. His words hold more influence now than they ever have before. He won’t have to fight so hard for press this time. And unlike Newt Gingrich, he doesn’t need gimmicks (I’m announcing on Twitter!) to pull it off. source

I think there’s a natural timeframe, and I think probably by about early summer a decision should be made.
Rep. Michele Bachmann • On the possibility that she’ll run for president. The key Tea Party figure has made overtures for months. Also worth noting: Bachmann has made a stink recently about $105 billion of extra funding for Obamacare which she says snuck into the bill. However, MinnPost’s Derek Wallbank points out that none of this stuff was hidden, and that her team had three months to look at the final bill. Her claim? They didn’t really focus on the Senate bill in the House – until the last second, that is. source

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin • Discussing making another presidential run in 2012. Heh heh, he said “fetish.” Putin would be able to stay in power a full six years if reelected. In other news, he had this to say about Democratic protesters without permits: “If you get (permission), you go and march. If you don’t – you have no right to. Go without permission, and you will be hit on the head with batons. That’s all there is to it.” Heh. source

I would like to tell (U.S.) President Barack Obama that the United States has Obama and Haiti has Wyclef Jean.
Wyclef Jean • Saying the kind of thing that would sound arrogant coming from most people. But Wyclef Jean is dead serious about his motives. And his popularity is high enough right now that he has a huge groundswell of support, never mind the fact that Haitian law says that the can’t become president right now. But everybody loves him! He’s Wyclef Jean. Let’s fix that, guys. source
