All those ideas of creating extra revenues, I’m always for an open debate on it. We ought to study very carefully what other countries are doing that have legalized marijuana. What effect did it have on those countries? Are they happy with the decision?
California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger • On the possibility of legalizing pot. He goes on to note that his native Austria did not have a good experience with legalization. By the way, most people think pot should be legal as a way to raise state revenue. • source
Despite lack of time, he’s willing “if they get the technology together.” The governator of California has a lot on his plate, such as a budget crisis, but he’s still willing to make time for a cameo in the movie that made him a big enough star to become governor of a state. Next month’s “Terminator: Salvation,” starring Christian Bale and already sporting killer trailers, may feature the original Terminator in a cameo role. We sure hope so, because that would rule. He agrees. “I think it’s cool to continue on with the franchise,” he said. source
Model prisonersCharles Manson’s followers in the late 1960s – the ones who killed Sharon Tate and numerous others – appear to no longer be a danger to society. They all have spotless prison records; they all seem to show remorse and personal responsibility for their crimes. Yet, Susan Atkins (who’s terminally ill), Charles “Tex” Watson (who’s a minister), Patricia Krenwinkel and Leslie Van Houten probably will never be let out of prison. source

No shot at parole? Despite the records, what’s working against them is the sensationalism of their crimes. They keep going up to parole boards, only to get shunned. There are reasons it makes sense to let them go: Prisons are expensive. California’s broke. But it may not be enough. For the record, Tate’s sister doesn’t want them paroled, saying the slayings were “so vicious, so inhumane, so depraved, that there is no turning back.” source
It’d be a pretty good joke if it wasn’t true. The California Air Resources Board thinks that dark-colored cars have to work harder to stay cool, which means higher emissions. They’re looking to set a standard for 20% solar reflectivity by 2016, which black cars can’t pull off. So, if you’re in California, you may not be able to car that’s the same color as your soul in a few years. Sorry about that. source
