Offbeat: Google News run by computer with juvenile sense of humor

  • “Jack Meoff” ≠ Jake Tapper. The other day, the poor ABC News political reporter got mis-bylined by the computer-driven service, instead calling Tapper by his real name. The article was about some topic we don’t care about, but the second we realized it got turned into a childish prank, we immediately showed interest. Good show, Google News, getting regular people like us interested in the news. source

  • The West Virginia mining disaster is scary and stuff, and all some jerks can think about is trashing Jamie Foxx on live TV. We’re impressed with Shep’s way of preventing that prank from getting more play than it could’ve.

Offbeat: Pranking Christians: Funny because they don’t know pop culture!

  • Two clips, two obvious pop culture references, two guys that completely miss them. In the first clip, the guy reads a letter from a man who has the exact same problem as the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. In the second, the letter-writer says that God is a man who rickrolls. Jesus, you guys need to start watching a wider variety of secular TV. Those are blatantly obvious.
