World: Holy crap: S. Korean ship may have been hit by N. Korean torpedo

The ship is sinking. This could be bad. The ship, located near the island of Baengnyeong, may possibly have been struck by a torpedo. Many sailors are feared dead and a rescue mission has already begun. South Korea and North Korea, by the way, are technically still in a state of war. Oh, and North Korea just yesterday threatened to use nuclear weapons. source

World: As you might guess, Iran’s Green Movement doesn’t want nukes

The Iranian Green Movement does not want a nuclear bomb, but instead desires peace for the world and democracy for Iran. The Green Movement in Iran furthermore understands the world’s concerns and in fact has similar concerns itself.

Music: We saw Antony and the Johnsons last night in D.C.

We thought it was awesome, but … There were a couple of moments of very uncomfortable silence just before “Fistful of Love” in which our man Antony Hegarty went into a lengthy, meandering rant on the evils of nuclear war. The crowd, which was silently in awe of the transgendered man, was visibly squirming. It only hurt the show a little, though. Dude’s voice sounds amazing in person, especially on “Another World” and the encore, “Hope There’s Someone.” On a side note, seeing a show in a synagogue rules. source
