  • Dick Cheney’s clear proof the medical system works. The former vice president has had so many procedures done for his heart and the rest of his body that he’s his own living embodiment of why health care is effective. He also probably pays for at least one doctor’s yearly salary. Some highlights:
  • 1978 The year of Cheney’s first heart attack. He’s had three others since.
  • 2005 Cheney was treated for arterial aneurysms behind both of his knees.
  • 2007 An electrical impulse was used to correct his irregular heartbeat.
  • 2009 He underwent TWO elective surgeries for lumbar spinal stenosis. source
