Tech: Bing tries to get a leap on the search competition with Tweet results

  • Who cares? Twitter’s own search is already really good. Microsoft, who apparently didn’t talk to the Tweetable company before implementing the new feature (not that they have to), now presents the latest tweets from a select crew of a few thousand notables (which we hope includes us, or it’s clobberin’ time). It’ll be gradual but eventually, expect to get Microsoft’s Tweets in your Bing. source

Tech: Google SEEMS calm about MS’ Bing, but are they really freaking out?

  • The New York Post sez yes. The Post, in their usual overwrought style, claimed that Google was so surprised that Bing was actually good that co-founder Sergey Brin is actually taking a desperate hands-on approach to making improvements to the engine. Yeah. Sure. source

Tech: Wow. CNet says Microsoft’s Bing search engine tops Google

  • Google keeps improving in the area of in-search collation and display as well, but Bing makes Google look complacent, and that’s not good for Google. For the moment, Bing’s on top in this game.
  • CNet reviewer Rafe Needleman • On Microsoft’s Bing, the funnily-named new search engine designed to compete with Google big time. Needleman says Bing doesn’t consistently top Google, but it does it enough to make it look competitive. That’s OK, though; Google should be fine. Heck, MS totally got upstaged by Google today. But that said, Bing launches fully on June 3 keep an eye out. • source
