World: Guatemala’s dirty laundry goes up on YouTube. Scary.

  • “The history at the end repeats itself as usual in Guatemala.” The Central American country is understandably freaked out at the sight of this video on YouTube, which features attorney Rodrigo Rosenberg Marzano explaining (in Spanish) that he was assassinated at the hands of President Álvaro Colom Caballeros. It’s a chilling video, guys. Colom denies Marzano’s claims, but suffice it to say, he’s dead. source

World: A leader’s death in Guinea-Bissau leads to chaos

  • Nobody knows who is in charge. Nobody knows what the army will do.
  • A diplomat • in response to the death of Guinea-Bissau leader João Bernardo Vieira, who was shot dead by soldiers early Monday morning. Some soldiers blamed Vieira for the death of General Batista Tagme Na Wai, who was killed in a blast Sunday night. The borders of the country were closed off in the wake of the deaths. • source

U.S.: We’re assuming Obama wouldn’t have wanted this delivery

  • A man, with a rifle. At the U.S. Capitol. The man, Alfred Brock, 64, of Winnfield, Louisiana, had an unregistered firearm and a truck full of ammo. He drove up near the north barricade in front of the Capitol and said he had a delivery for the president. Yikes. It’s not the first time an incident like this has happened, either. source
