U.S.: BP’s new cap grabbing some, but not all of, the leaking oil

  • 6,000 number of barrels of oil the new cap is allowing BP to transfer per day
  • 19k-25k number of barrels that are currently spewing out of the pipe daily source
  • » A starting point: This total does not reflect a high point for how much oil they can siphon. To prevent the pressure from causing an explosion, they’re allowing some of the oil to go through vents which they plan to later close. So expect that 6,000 barrel total to go up.

If so, call him/her and have a conversation. Idly mention this information and suggest that if it were published, that would be nice. No e-mails!’
  • Former Apple Senior Marketing Manager John Martellaro • Regarding how Apple lets information about its products – like a certain slate-type thing that a bunch of people are freaking about – leak to the press. Essentially, it won’t leak on its own, but the leaks are controlled and totally part of the plan to build hype around the product. And if you haven’t noticed, it largely works like a charm. source
