- The reason? Joe Jackson beat him as a child. Michael Jackson was the king of the dysfunctional childhood, becoming famous and having to deal with very rough family dynamics at an early age. According to his will, he never forgot it. He left his will to his mom, children and charity, but apparently didn’t leave his father, Joe, a red cent.
