The state representative is trying to get the state’s attorney general on the case, saying that while child labor laws allow children to work in movies, television is off-limits. “We can all agree that as the number of film and television productions in Pennsylvania increases, the protection of children involved in those productions should be of paramount importance,” Murt said. The Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry is currently investigating the popular reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” as well as host network TLC, to determine whether the show is taking advantage of a bunch of young kids.
