The Dalai Lama, one of the most iconic leaders in the world, has announced that he’ll be retiring from his work at the political head of the Tibetan exiles. “My desire to devolve authority has nothing to do with a wish to shirk responsibility. It is to benefit Tibetans in the long run,” he said in a statement. He’s pushing for a democratic vote for the next leader. May the transition be as smooth as this one. source
